Designed with the future in mind.

Trash dumped in water knows no bounds. Plastic is not biodegradable. Instead, over time it breaks down into microscopic particles called microplastics, which pollute the environment. 90% of all the trash the oceans are polluted with is plastic. Plastic bags are one of the biggest sources of plastic pollution, and one of the easiest to eliminate, as they are easily abandoned.

How does it work?

Our packaging is like the peel of a tangerine or grapefruit to protect the fruit inside - TIPA®'s innovative packaging material mimics nature's natural packaging to protect what's inside. This means that your product remains protected as it travels from us to you, and continues to feed the planet after use, decomposing into fertile soil.

TIPA® packaging is designed to be placed in a home or industrial composting facility along with your organic waste, offering a zero waste solution that returns to nature after use.

TIPA® packaging is certified to decompose under home and/or industrial composting conditions. Do not recycle or dispose of in the environment, as this may contaminate the plastic recycling waste stream.

What should I do with the packaging?

Remove the stickers left on the packaging and use the TIPA® packaging from your MEDHOODIE product as a BIO waste bag. After filling the bag with organic waste, place it in the brown BIO waste bin. When the bag goes to an industrial composting facility, it will decompose within 6 months.

If you have a home composter place the bag in it so it can decompose within 6 months.

What do we consider BIO waste? BIO waste includes organic waste that decomposes naturally. So, we put the following into the bio container: vegetable and fruit peelings, egg shells, coffee and tea grounds along with paper filters, wilted flowers and plants, leftover food of plant origin.

Can I dispose of the packaging in the yellow plastic bin?

No. TIPA® compostable packaging cannot be recycled with other plastics. They will contaminate the plastic recycling waste stream. Please, never place your packaging in the recycling container.

What is composting?

Composting is one of the world's most natural recycling systems. It describes a process in which living microorganisms decompose organic matter (fruits, vegetables, branches, leaves, compostable packaging, etc.) in an oxygen-rich environment, transforming it into fertile soil.

What makes TIPA® compostable?

TIPA® films and laminates contain 20 to 80% ingredients derived in part from non-GMO corn and sugarcane. TIPA® provides the best sustainable option for carrier bags today. It is fully compostable plastic packaging that breaks down the same way organic matter breaks down. When placed in a compost environment with the right temperature, moisture and oxygen, TIPA® packaging breaks down into small pieces that can be digested by microorganisms to produce fertile soil. After delivery, simply remove the stickers left on the packaging and place it in a home, municipal or industrial composting facility where it is accepted, and the packaging will decompose within 24 weeks.
